Tell us something about yourself?

After receiving my Masters in Msc(hons) Maths and M.M.S from BITS- Pilani, I drove into the IT industry for seven years. I was happy doing what I did, shutting between US and India until my first son was born. And then, life changed my priorities changed. I quit my job to spend time with my little one – to be there with him, to see and enjoy his milestones.

My son introduced me to the world of children’s books and arts and crafts. Our daily schedule included visit to the library, craft time, visit to the park and I was truly enjoying it all – after all, I had quit my job to be able to do all this.

Now I am a mom of two little boys aged 8 and 5. I am extremely passionate about early childhood education, arts and crafts and entrepreneurship. I believe happy kids + happy parents make happy families. I created Purple Bee activity kits to make both you and your kids happy. My goal with Purple Bee is to help you engage kids in a meaningful way with plenty of ease.

How did you got the idea of creating Purple Bee activity boxes?

Considering my interest in the early learning space and the problems I faced as a parent, I decided to do something that would make me happy and also solve the problem faced by parents and thus was born Purple Bee activity boxes.

The journey wouldn’t have been easy. What are some of the bold steps you’ve taken in creating this venture?

I feel being bold means to be able to do what your heart wants to do, to be able to do the things that make you happy and once you start something, put your heart and soul into it and continue with it come what may. No one my family had run a business. So I think deciding to start a venture was in itself a bold decision for me.

I truly understand that having a job, managing the household, cooking three meals a day and also coming up with ideas to engage curious kids can be challenging. I have been through these situations. And so I created Purple Bee boxes to help make learning fun and meaningful for kids without sweating it out. Parents can have fun with their kids and at the same time have time to do what they want to do – It could be playing a sport or catching up with friends or even sipping a cup of coffee peacefully.
