Looking for some me-time with Kids? Top Tips from Celebrity Moms

Every time you’re stuck in your work or in traffic, or amidst some chore, that tiny voice in your head reminds you about missing out on the bonding time with your kid. You try not to feel guilty. This is the case for many working parents. In today’s life, everyone is working hard to secure their child’s future. But it is very important for you to take time out for your child too from your busy routine. Why it is important?

  • Children imitate by observing their parents, so spending quality time with your child will help them to learn a lot.
  • Develop an attention-seeking behaviour in child.
  • Develop a lifelong loving bond in between you and your child

Aishwarya Rai says her days are mostly busy because of her daughter. She said, “I spend all my time with Aaradhya, and I have one nanny, by choice. I read comments saying, ‘Ah, she must have an army of help’ and I understand the perception, but I choose this way, which means life is always busy. I respect homemakers for the endless work they do. As far as downtime goes, it’s about perspective—if you believe you’re tired, you will be, so I choose to find pleasure at the moment and experience the present for what it is.”

As per Kareena Kapoor Khan, mom to Jeh and Taimur “What a child really wants is love and nurturing. And that 30 minutes of quality, undisturbed time in today’s day and age, without your phone, without your friends, without your work, with nothing; even that amount of time is enough to just look into his eyes and make him know I love them (Jeh and Taimur). That’s what I think is the most precious time for me. No amount of taking him to playschool or carrying him around or travelling the world; I don’t think that matters at all. I think it’s just that when I shut the door and tell everyone that I don’t want to see them for that hour–it could be Saif included–that is the way I want to bring up my son.”

Genelia Dsouza mother of Riaan and Rahyl is a hands-on mother. She says “Actually I do everything myself and am exhausted by evening. But I love it and I think being a mother is the most rewarding feeling. In fact, as the days go by, I remember my own mum. I think motherhood makes you thank your own mom the most.”. For new mothers, she suggests “I don’t think any mom needs any tips as there’s so much advice given by everyone around, some unwanted as well. I just want to tell new moms to enjoy their babies. I for one, love experiencing every moment and I’m sure each mom feels that way. No matter how much you’ve been told by others, it’s your own experience that matters.”

One of the famous Bollywood actresses and former Miss Universe, Lara Dutta has a 10-year-old daughter Saira Bhupati. She says “I think no mother with their first child is really 100 per cent prepared for parenthood until it happens to you. It is pretty much something that you learn on the go with each day.”
