Top 5 ways for New Parents to keep the spark alive

Becoming parents brings a lot of joy, it also turns your world upside down! As you and your partner try to meet parenting responsibilities, many a times ‘me time’ takes a back seat. Some couple time is important to keep you in a sane state of mind and your relationship going. One has to make small conscious effort to stay close and keep the spark.

Here are some tips:

Take five minutes to connect each day
It’s the little things that make a big difference in a marriage. Take five minutes when you both meet each other in the morning and check on the plan for the day and five minutes when your spouse returns from work to ask how was the day. Wrap your arms around the one you love and continue a tender, warm embrace. Sometimes that will be the best thing that has happened to your spouse all day.

Give your partner the day off
With a baby, a full day off  is out of question but a afternoon to spend time with friends or catch a movie would be a great idea.

Make a date and stick to it
After a baby arrives, time spent as a couple is sacrificed. By setting a date to spend some quality time with your partner, you’re instilling a habit, which will have great benefits for both you, your partner and your child.

A walk to remember
Convert your child’s naptime into a romantic walk for you and your partner. The fresh air of  garden is good for your child while he is sleeping in the stroller, and you and your partner can enjoy a scenic stroll while having an opportunity to talk.

Have one meal together
Once your baby’s meals are done. Leave him/ her with some engaging toys and music and grab a meal with your partner. If your child is sleeping in the morning or noon, make use of the time and have your breakfast or lunch with your spouse and spend quality time.

Every parent needs a break. Book hourly daycare services. Drop your child for a few hours at a nearby daycare and get sometime to finish your work or enjoy sometime.
