Moms share tips to get back to work guilt free

Mondays can be the worst days even for Super Moms, as after the weekend blast with the little one, it’s depressing to say bye to your angel and go back to work. We though a small dose of inspiration and advice from fellow moms can cheer up your day.

Returning to your job after maternity break can be an overwhelming experience. Will I be able to manage? Will my baby adjust? What if she doesn’t eat or sleep well? Will my baby forget me with my crazy work hours? How do I deal with the guilt of leaving my baby every morning?

It’s reassuring for new mothers to know that many mothers have done this before and that too successfully. We have requested a few new moms to share their stories: the stories are honest, candid and unique.

Life changes 360 degrees when you become a mother. What changes you have seen in you?

One big change is that I have finally discovered the meaning of true love after becoming a mother. I am also able to appreciate and respect the efforts of my parents.

What inspired you to return to work post maternity break?

The encouragement from my parents and my determination to create a better future for my baby! My kid should be proud of his mom who is doing well professionally.

What keeps you going?

The Smile on my baby’s face and my mother’s encouragement

Any support system that would have made your return easier?

The day care at my husband’s office is the strongest support system that helped me make this transition. My parents supported me a lot emotionally. As well as flexi work arrangement provided by my employer encouraged me to join sooner. These days genuine efforts are being made to encourage and support working mothers.

You have recently returned to work after maternity, tell us a bit about the decision?

I was always sure that I wanted to work after having a baby, but when my daughter was born I felt joining work full time after just 6-7 months was too early.  So I looked for part-time work from home opportunities. I was lucky to find one soon and I am a happily employed mom now.

How true is the working mother’s guilt? What keeps you going?

Working mother’s guilt is very real. Even though I work part time and that too from home, there are days where I have to just focus on work and don’t get time to play with my daughter. What is equally important to me is to bring to use my education and six years of rich experience and stay updated of the latest technology and inspire my daughter to never give up.

Who is your biggest support system that has helped you with this transition?

My husband Mohit without a doubt

Life changes 360 degrees when you become a mother. What changes have you seen in you?

I have developed a different level of responsibility towards home, family and definitely the little one. I learnt to be more patient, able to cope up with pressure in a much calmer way and lots of discipline.

What inspired you to return to work post maternity break?

I always wanted to be a working mother, I had never thought of leaving my job. A job/ career gives a very different dimension to me, it adds a definitive purpose beyond the usual roles of being a wife, daughter and mother.

What keeps you going?

The constant desire to excel in all the roles. Make the most of the time spent with the little one and at the same time, to do my best at work.I always try to achieve that perfect balance

Congratulations moms for your successful back to work stories, may you achieve greater heights as a working mom.
