These women founders have paid attention to the littlest details of a woman‘s needs & have built their daycare brands successfully supporting working women. They have not only supported working women but with all their hard work have also paved way to massive successes of their brands.
Sridevi Raghavan, Co-founder – Amelio Early Education
Sridevi, the cofounder of Amelio is an alumni of Harvard Business School (HBS), when she was working as an advertising professional in Bangalore; she noticed that a number of her senior colleagues found it extremely difficult to manage work and home. She felt unfair that women have to make a choice between work and family, she wondered whether a childcare centre at or near the work place could actually help working mothers continue with their careers. That’s how the idea of Amelio came into her mind and she started Amelio in 2009 to help other working women.
Kanchan Mittal, Co-Founder – IPSAA
Kanchan started her career as a Chartered accountant in the early 90’s and got married. She lost touch with her friends as everyone got married and busy with their lives. When she was able to connect with her long lost friends and to her dismay, she found out that most of them, even the most brilliant one’s in school had not been able to pursue their careers on account of childcare as there was no external support available. Ipsaa is a Sanskrit word for a wish. It aims to fulfil every woman’s wish to do well in her career, without giving up on her responsibility as a mother and every child’s wish to be in a happy learning environment.
Hazel Siromoni, Managing Director – Maple Bear
Hazel began her career as a counselor at Canadian Education centre in India which was set up by Government of Canada with the mandate to promote and market Canadian Education Internationally. She became the Director of Maple Bear India in 2009 and then the Managing Director under the Joint Venture between Maple Bear Global Schools Ltd and Modi Edutech in 2011. Maple Bear Canadian Preschool is one of the most successful Preschool Franchise in India. It has recently received the Women’s Most Trusted Brand award as well.
Nupur Dalal , Co-Founder – The Little Big World
With advanced education and experience in research methodology in US and India, Nupur has a decade long experience in research and product design. At Little Big World, she has spearheaded our primary research across 5000 working parents from Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Bangalore that has helped us define Little Big World’s size, layout and operations. A demanding mom with twin boys, Nupur supervises our quality control, central operations and marketing.
Kanika Bahl- Co-founder – The Courtyard
Kanika Bahl completed her Master’s from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi and went on to teach at the University of Madras and the University of Mumbai. She also taught Visual Art at the SPJ Sadhana School for developmentally challenged children. She is a talented artist and baker and she brings hands-on learning methods to the children at The Courtyard.
Priya Krishnan, Founder- KLAY
Klay is today one of the best daycare in India, providing parents with all the very best childcare support for their children. Priya Krishnan, a working mother herself ran IT Outsourcing firm Mphasis’ European Business prior to launching KLAY. She experienced the challenges of working full-time and taking care of her young children and this led her to found a childcare center which understands this and provides that kind of support where working parents don’t have to worry for their children.
Preeta Suri, Founder- Kanchana Paati
Preeta while working in a corporate & managing family was in search of a quality daycare for her daughter, but she was unable to find something as per her expectation also she found that many of other parents were struggling to find quality daycare for their child. Therefore she decided to cater to the needs of quality daycare and started the venture of Kanchana Paati on August 15th, 2006.It was named as Kanchana Paati”. (Paati in Tamil means grand mom). Their mission was to provide a flexible, convenient, high quality child care service to a parent, and the fun and excitement of a Grandma’s place for their child.
