OOOL, The Christmas Carnival by IPSAA

Has anyone come across or seen material theatre events? Material Theatre uses resources in assessment activities to help establish context, purpose, and focus. Stimulus materials used for theatre may be aural and/or visual. They are selected to represent the genres, styles, and forms of both Western theatre and the dramatic traditions of a variety of other cultures. They include music, still and moving images, literature (e.g., stories, poems, and dramatic forms like skits and plays), film clips of performances in drama, music, and dance, and an array of artifacts.

Material theatre explores possibilities of artistic creation with ordinary material. The material is in the focus & not the performer who always stays behind the material.

I, recently came across an event OOOL which is going to happen on Saturday – 23rd Dec’19 based on material theatre at Ipsaa, Sector 51. I’m really keen on sending my 3-year-old for this event which is based on an enthralling exploration with wool, where an artist will take the viewers through a journey in discovering the versatile material – wool along with melody, movement, drama and madness! Am sure along with mine, each of the toddler sitting out there in the audience will knit their own special designs with color, lines, shapes and dreams with wool while the performer shall be playing with the material and creating many images.

Ipsaa is doing this event in association with Tram Arts Trust, formed in 2011, which is an Object Theatre Company based out of Mumbai & New Delhi.
