Shilpa Shetty Kundra today is one of the hottest Bollywood mommmy on the block. She had gained weight post-pregnancy like any other woman, and then she lost it all in just three months with her dedication and hardwork. And, you would be amazed to know how much she had lost in kgs, which is 21.
Shilpa Shetty follows all types of workouts, right fromstrength training to cardio to yoga. She practices strength training twice aweek, cardio once a week and yoga twice a week.
Some of the things she follows religiously are –
Shilpa starts her day with aloe vera or amla juice.
She eats brown rice, brown sugar, brown pasta, and other types of brown carbs to supply her body with carbs.
She also enjoys cooking and eating different veggies, salmon, turkey, etc.
Post-workout, she prefers eating a few dates, a few black raisins and protein shake.
She enjoys that one cheat day in her weekly diet regime. On this day, she satiates her sweet tooth desires of the entire week.
She does not go for light weights, when it comes to strengthtraining. She instead opts for heavy weights during these sessions, tostrengthen her muscles. She believes in meditation after workout, to relievethe stress.
She makes sure that she is eating according to her diet plan for 6 days/week
Post pregnancy, she concentrated on a balanced diet. And her daily calories intake was 1800
She does not eat after 8 pm and ensures that her last meal is consumed 3 hours before bedtime
To stay hydrated, she advices to drink 10 glasses of water each day
Shilpa also recommends to eat processed foods including raw nut butter, almond milk, mustard and flax seeds
She takes 1 day of her week as a cheat day to curb cravings
She advises all mothers to lose weight but also says that they should not feel sad about their body weight as it is a natural process and they must take their time to nurse the baby. She also recommends new moms to only start dieting after at least four months of giving birth. “If your schedule doesn’t allow you to exercise, it is possible to lose 75 percent of the weight by eating a balanced diet.”
Post-Pregnancy Diet
Breakfast: She drinks a glass of hot water, first thing in the morning along with a plate of papaya with lemon. After that, she drinks a cup of milk tea. For breakfast, she either eats porridge or two eggs.
Lunch: She eats two quinoa rotis or a small bowl of rice with dal, fish or vegetables. To finish off her lunch, she eats a piece of jaggery.
Snacks: A glass of slim dahi buttermilk after two hours of lunch; tea in the evening with brown sugar are her go-to snacks
Dinner: Her dinner includes a lettuce salad filled with veggies, a turkey slice or a salmon steak. Paneer or stir-fried vegetables are things she sometimes adds to her meals and sour soup for proteins.
Post-Pregnancy Workout
She works out 5 days a week- inclusive of yoga (2 days),strength training (2 days) and cardio (1 day). She meditates for 10 minutes after yoga and believes that meditation helps a lot with weight loss.
