A New Year’s resolution is an attempt to do something nice, something that you’ve always wanted to do but somehow gets missed with the daily hum drum. Especially if you are a mom there would be a lot in this list. Let’s see what are the top resolutions of Moms for 2017:
1. I wish to sleep more
I don’t know if any single mom who can’t relate to this. According to medical science, The average adult needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night They also state that not getting enough sleep can lead to memory loss but I would say Motherhood is a perpetual state of sleep deprivation. Hopefully I will try to catch up more sleep in 2017.
2. I will start using my brain cells which I have traded them in for kids few years ago
Oftentimes, when pregnant, women become more forgetful than usual. However, this phenomenon usually subsides after the baby is born. Or does it?!? I experienced it to a slightly higher degree with pregnancy and I don’t think it ever completely subsided even after 3 years. Hopefully I will regain it in 2017.
3. Will not lose my patience seeing laundry baskets full of dirty clothes
Laundry drives me insane! I have at least twenty socks a week to tediously pick out mulch from piece by piece. Someone needs to call the Discovery Channel for an answer. How is it that the mulch manages to stick on even after the socks have been washed and dried?
I am hopeful that 2017, will be kind enough in terms of laundry and I will be more patient while dealing with laundry woes.
4. To lose weight which I have kept postponing it from past 3 years
Shedding out my pregnancy weight has been laying around in my to- do list from long time. Hopefully I will start some action on this agenda.
5. Try to eat 3 meals without any disturbance
Do you ever feel like you cannot complete a meal without being interrupted?? Well, I can’t even go to the bathroom without someone calling for me or just walking in to ask me a question. I am hoping against hope to get my 3 meals without any interruptions.
6. Not to be in my Pajamas for whole day
There is something about putting on a great outfit – maybe a power suit or a nice cocktail dress – that makes you feel great. My motherly wardrobe has become more about function and comfort. I rarely ever put on an outfit these days that makes me feel great. In 2017, I will try to be little bit classy and get rid of my yoga pants when I step out.
Happy New Year Moms!!
So, what are your resolutions for the new year?
