Celebrating Women Founders in the Childcare Industry

While many people dream of running a successful business, only a few envision using their business to help others. The childcare industry has opened doors of success for several women who have struggled with continuing their careers after having children. Women in the workforce are essential for a strong economy, but childcare issues can hinder their progress. These women founders have paid attention to the smallest details of a woman’s needs and have successfully built their daycare brands to support working women. Their hard work has paved the way for the massive success of their brands.

Meet some of these inspiring women:

Arpita Sur, CEO – Kido India

Arpita is a mother of two who is passionate about child development and psychology. She completed a course in Montessori philosophy and training early on. She has now combined her business acumen and passion for early child care as the Country Head for Kido International Preschool and Daycare in India.

Kanchan Mittal, Co-Founder – IPSAA

Kanchan started her career as a Chartered Accountant but lost touch with her friends after marriage. When she reconnected with them, she discovered that most of them had not been able to pursue their careers due to a lack of childcare support. Ipsaa, a Sanskrit word for “wish,” was born to fulfil every woman’s desire to excel in her career without giving up her responsibility as a mother.

Sridevi Raghavan, Senior Vice President  – Babilou Family

Sridevi, an alumna of Harvard Business School, noticed that a number of her senior colleagues found it difficult to manage work and home while working in an advertising firm in Bangalore. She founded Amelio in 2009 to help working mothers continue their careers by offering childcare centres at or near the workplace.

Prachi Mehrotra, Executive Director, Kara4Kids

Prachi believes in developing a culture of trust and transparency at the workplace to create an efficient, productive, and valuable organization. As an achiever of excellence in both academic and extracurricular fields, she believes that curiosity should be the driving force of every organization.

These women have shown that breaking through barriers and overcoming stereotypes is not only possible but also essential for success. By fearlessly pursuing their passions, they have become pioneers in the childcare domain and are making a profound impact on the lives of children and families.
As we celebrate their achievements, let us also recognize the ongoing challenges that women face in the workplace and commit to creating a more equitable and inclusive world for all.
