Celebrity Moms share tips to spend quality time with children

Although the days with little kids often seem long, the years fly by. And being a famous celebrity and a simple, doting mother, donning both the roles at the same time is certainly not an easy task. Hence, instead of worrying about how many minutes one can spend with your children each day, the celebrity moms are focusing on turning those minutes into memorable moments.

Aishwarya Rai says her days are mostly busy because of her daughter. She said, “I spend all my time with Aaradhya, and I have one nanny, by choice. I read comments saying, ‘Ah, she must have an army of help’ and I understand the perception, but I choose this way, which means life is always busy. I respect homemakers for the endless work they do. As far as downtime goes, it’s about perspective—if you believe you’re tired, you will be, so I choose to find pleasure in the moment and experience the present for what it is.”

As per Kareen Kapoor Khan, mom to Taimur “What a child really wants is love and nurturing. And that 30 minutes of quality, undisturbed time in today’s day and age, without your phone, without your friends, without your work, without anything; even that amount of time is enough to just look into his eyes and make him know I love him (Taimur). That’s what I think is the most precious time for me. No amount of taking him to playschool or carrying him around or travelling the world; I don’t think that matters at all. I think it’s just that when I shut the door and tell everyone that I don’t want to see them for that hour–it could be Saif included–that is the way I want to bring up my son.”

Genelia DSouza mother of Riaan and Rahyl is a hands on mother. She says “Actually I do everything myself and am exhausted by evening. But I love it and I think being a mother is the most rewarding feeling. In fact, as the days go by, I remember my own mum. I think motherhood makes you thank your own mom the most.”. For new mothers she suggests “I don’t think any mom needs any tips as there’s so much advice given by everyone around, some unwanted as well. I just want to tell new moms to enjoy their babies. I for one, love experiencing every moment and I’m sure each mom feels that way. No matter how much you’ve been told by others, it’s your own experience that matters.”

One of the famous Bollywood actresses and former Miss Universe, Lara Dutta has a 6 year old daughter Saira Bhupati. She says “I think no mother with their first child is really 100 percent prepared for parenthood until it happens to you. It is pretty much something that you learn on the go with each day.”

Mother of two, son Aarav and daughter Nitara, Twinkle Khanna is also a writer, film producer and former actress. She wakes up as early as 6.30 in the morning to get her son ready for his school. Not just this, she even makes time to play with her little daughter and then sets off with her own routine of catching up on official mails, doing her daily yoga, getting ready and finally making a move for her office. Married to actor Akshay Kumar for 13 glorious years, the star wife has to face a lot of challenges when it comes to managing the family responsibilities, but the effortless multi-tasker quips that she takes cue from her own childhood experiences to create a work-family balance.
