Wow mom! Thanks for sending me here, I wish to come here every day” exclaimed Kiaan to his mom for getting him to the ongoing playdate which commenced on 20th August at Mindseed centres & is going to end on the 25th. Post his regular morning playgroup session & a short snack break Kiaan had another reason to party at school & his mommy got an extension of 2 hours time for herself.
Day 1 – Monday – Introduction
Started with circle time which included Prayers, introduction of all kids for them to know each other and rhymes. To focus on fine motor skills, they made the kids put beads in a bottle and shake it to hear the sound. It ended with some music and movement activities like feet thumping, clapping and playing some instruments.
Day 2 –Tuesday – Focused on Story-time, Puppet show & Gross Motor skills
The kids enjoyed learning to make puppets for the story “A Very Hungry Caterpillar” & narration for the same was done. They even feasted on sweet things like Sevaiya as one of the snack offered to them through which they were thought about EID. Along with this they jumped on trampolines, from mat to mat & moved between / around objects pretending to be a train and a motorcar.
Day 3 – Wednesday – Holiday on the occasion of Bakri EID
This week long playdate happening at Mindseed centres across Maharashtra will be focusing on gross motor skills, free play, clay modelling, rakhi making, etc. The plan of action for the next days of the week is as follows:
Day 4 – Thursday – Paint & Play
Kids will enjoy some Free Playtime in the huge outdoor spaces that Mindseed centres have. Fun on see-saw, bouncers, rockers, slides, etc will be a part of this day. They also intend to make the kids do some wet-on-wet Painting, children will start with a single primary color before trying two primary colors and then finally three primary colors. After the child has had the opportunity to work with two colors for a time, the third primary color can be added in. This allows the child the opportunity to fully experience each color.
Day 5 – Friday – Clay Modelling
There is something very relaxing about playing with clay even as an adult. The tactile nature of clay lets young children develop their imaginations and their motor skills while having fun. At Mindseed, the little ones will use their hands at making basic ball shape, an egg shape, a pancake, a volcano, a snake, a sausage and a ribbon. Further to this they are free to use their imagination to make things of the clay.
Day 6 – Saturday – Rakhi Making
The Playdate party ends with crafting a Rakhi for their siblings. Knowledge on importance of Rakshabandhan will be shared with the kids in the form of a story to interest them. Additionally, making a rakhi will also help them cultivate hand eye synchronization and fine motor skills.
