Aaikya Playschool - IMAGINE, BELIEVE and MAKE Kid's minds were built to explore, play and learn. We at Aaikya aim at establishing an excellent foundation for students to develop greater thoughtfulness and independence as they continue their journey towards becoming capable and lifelong learners. "Children must be taught how to think, not what to think - MARGARET MEAD AAikya believes that our little ones should feel loved, respected and encouraged to develop to their full potential. Every child has to feel: Belonging -is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel that they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place. Being- is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just 'be' – time to play, try new things and have fun. Becoming - is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity from an early age, which then shapes the type of adult they will become. At the preschool stage, children are curious and excited about the new environment around them. The child's ability to experience the world gets richer and more differentiated over the years. Children need to be given opportunities to investigate, explore and develop an understanding of their immediate and wider environment-human, social and cultural. In the exploration of their environments, children are involved in observation, questioning, discussion, prediction, analysis, exploration, investigation and experimentation. In this process, they construct to modify and develop a broad range of concepts and ideas. Children begin to handle their own feelings and emotions, learning, sharing, taking a turn and cooperating with peers. Children begin to tell others why they are happy or sad and also develop their self-concept. Our Preschool curriculum therefore, is well designed to promote positive growth in the lives of all the children, by adopting a holistic approach that enables each child to develop their social, physical, emotional and intellectual abilities. We know that each child is unique, special and positive early childhood experiences are instrumental for a child's overall development in later life.
