Checklist for preparing for the arrival of the new born at home

As there is no official instruction manual for becoming a parent, a little advance planning will make it easier for you to enjoy your parenthood once the baby arrives.  This to-do list will make you feel super organized for welcoming your child.

Making room for the baby

The beginning months will have you getting up for feedings during the night. If you intend to share your bed with your baby, make sure your bed is safe. Otherwise you can make room for a cot so that it fits nicely next to your bed.

Keep a separate cupboard or chest of drawers for your baby’s nappies, clothes, toiletries and other belongings.

Babies love to be kept warm in the initial few months.

Feeding

If you’re breastfeeding, you don’t really need any equipment.
