The lockdown period has caused online\neducation to rapidly evolve in India. At the same time parents are worried\nabout the negative impacts of increased screen time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recent Expert Chat session on \u201cVirtual\nPre-schooling: Holistic Learning &amp; Development, Despite The Lockdown Today\u201d\naddresses the concerns that parents of young children have regarding the\nchildren\u2019s wellbeing and holistic growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the webinar, experts from<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.proeves.com\/search\/Kangaroo+Kids\"><strong>Kangaroo Kids<\/strong><\/a>, India, unravelled the importance of online learning for pre-schoolers and urged parents to embrace the change and not let the pandemic disrupt the learning of children.\u00a0They highlighted the importance for pre-schoolers to stay connected with their friends and teachers and urged other educators also to focus on ensuring emotional and social connect through online lessons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While designing the curriculum\ntheir advice was to look at some of these factors <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Interactive\nlearning \u2013Integrate online lessons with a child\u2019s natural setting. E.g use\neveryday household items as learning aids<\/li><li>Blended\nLearning \u2013 Mix of Online and Offline Activities<\/li><li>Duration\n\u2013 Regular but short classes<\/li><li>Focus on\nmovement based \/ hands on learning <\/li><li>Emphasise\non social connectedness <\/li><li>Individual\nattention and inquiry- based sessions<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Webinar was also attended by <strong>Sonal Singh<\/strong> who is a practising family and parent coach in Delhi. She spoke about how best to navigate screen time for small children and gave tips on how to avoid meltdowns and tantrums associated with digital time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her advise to parents was to balance\nscreen time with other activities that are good for preschooler\u2019s development.
