And I just think\nthat whatever our eyes touch should be beautiful, tasteful, appealing, and\nimportant.\u201d \u2013 Eric Carle<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With so\nmany kids being used to screens &amp; increase in cases of anxiety &amp; hyper\nactivity within children, it\u2019s a must to get them used to something soothing\n&amp; calming at a young age. What\u2019s &nbsp;more enriching &amp;calming than a\ncolorful book with your favorite character. With fewer kids having reading as their\nmain source of entertainment, it\u2019s all the more important to start at an early\nage to inculcate reading habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are\nsome ways you can help your toddler &nbsp;build interest in reading \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Read out loud to your\n     toddler and start with basic books<\/li><li>Make going to the library\n     and getting out a book a special time<\/li><li>Choose right books \u2013\n     Toddlers enjoy looking at colourful pictures. Select books with different\n     textures so that your kid can explore it through touching.<\/li><li>Create a\n     ritual out of reading before bed \u2013 such as bath, teeth, and bedtime\n     stories for five to 10 minutes, then lights out. Reading is also a great\n     way to calm kids down before sleeping.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Asking questions while reading to your child is not only\ngreat for encouraging your child to interact with the book, but it is also\nextremely effective in developing his ability to comprehend what he is reading.\nChildren who are motivated to read will actively seek out books to enjoy and\nare happy reading quietly by themselves. Research confirms that motivation is a\nkey factor in becoming a successful reader. When children are motivated, they\nread frequently, which in turn helps them to become skillful readers. And\nskillful readers learn well, deeply and successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t have to wait until your children are old enough to\nactually read before you can begin familiarising them with reading. <em>Encourage and motivate your kids to read as\nearly as possible to instil love of reading in them!!
