Since Valentine\u2019s Day is around the corner, everyone will be busy in making\nplans for gifts\/ momentos. If the gifts are handmade by your toddler; they are\nmuch more precious & closer to heart.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sulbha Bathwal, <\/strong> a mom of twins, does many engaging activities which help her toddlers with fine motor skills, language, mathematics, hand eye coordination, imaginative skills, art and craft etc. She prefers doing these activities with easily available materials at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a list of easily doable DIY ideas for your child that improves the fine\nmotor skill & creativity of your child:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Transferring coloured rice with spoon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this we need just 2 bowls, spoon, rice(prefer coloured as kids are\nfascinated by colours). Transfer rice from once bowl to another with help of\nspoon. This is an activity which built hand eye coordination, fine motor skills\nand concentration in toddlers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Sensory basket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For creating a Valentine\u2019s Day sensory basket, use all the red colour things\navailable at home like coloured pasta, pompom, pipe cleaners, rice and added\nalphabets \u201clove\u201d. The kids would love to explore the basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Cutting skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Draw a heart on a piece of paper and ask your child to cut in pieces using\nscissors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Imaginative play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cut foam in heart shape, dip it into color and ask kids to make different\nshapes out of this foam. Try making faces by adding eyes; add leaves make a\nflower; this will make the kids to think out of the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Art and craft<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cut a chart paper into a heart shape(coloured or white) & fold it like a\ncard. Then ask your child to stick smaller heart on the big heart and make a\nbeautiful heart shaped card for their dad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Chopping strawberry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use a toddlers friendly knife and give some strawberries(or any easy to cut veggies\/fruits) to your child to cut it for salad. This will teach them the basic skills of chopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Making shapes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give red play dough to your child and ask them to create different shapes\nout of them like heart, flower etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of it all, you will have loads of DIY creative gifts for your\nfamily for Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
