Dads today are not only taking a more active role in caring for their children and helping out the mothers around the house, they want to be involved in every aspect of their child’s life. The Daring Dad<\/strong><\/p>\n When Habeeb and his wife, Anju, who have two children, decided that they did not want any more children, he underwent a vasectomy in the interest of family planning instead of his wife. His reason behind doing so was in the benefit of his wife. As vasectomy is a simple procedure, which requires local anesthesia whereas tubectomy is much more complicated and involves an operation. Habeeb shared this news on his facebook profile in an eye-opening post. His post became viral for its honest and incredibly insightful description of the procedure, making him a celebrity overnight.<\/p>\n The Special Dad<\/strong><\/p>\n On January 1, 2016, Aditya Tiwari, a software engineer by profession made history by becoming the youngest single adoptive parent in India when he adopted Binny whom he later renamed Avnish. After discovering that Binny had Down’s syndrome, his parents had left him in an orphanage. Aditya met Binny for the first time in 2014 and felt an instant connection. He wanted to give him all the love he never received from his parents. However, Aditya hadn’t yet reached the legal age of 30, neither was he married to adopt a child according to Indian legalities. He had to fought a year long battle with the system but later his perseverance paid off.<\/p>\n The Stay At Home Dad<\/strong><\/p>\n Samar Halarnkar quit his job as Managing Editor of Hindustan Times in Delhi a few years ago to become a stay at home dad in order to take care of his daughter. Today he is editor of India Spend, also a columnist with Hindustan Times and Mint, and continues to works from home. He does the cooking in the morning and then drops and picks up his daughter from school apart from also organising her entire day.
