And he got a lot of time to decorate the idlis with me.<\/p>\n<p>I generally put lot of veggies in the idlis to make it healthy but this time I tried to be creative .My boy was so confused and sad at the same time since he was not able to decide which one to eat first and once they were finished, he will not be able to see them again. But I promised to make him again.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s first see the basic recipe for Idli.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Recipe for Idli batter:-<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Urad dal- 2 cup<\/p>\n<p>Idli rice :- 2 cup<\/p>\n<p>2 tbspn methi seed<\/p>\n<p>Recipe:-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Drain the soaked urad dal.<\/li>\n<li>Grind the urad dal, methi seed with 1\/4 cup of the reserved water for some seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the urad dal batter in a bowl and keep aside.<\/li>\n<li>Grind the rice in batches to make a smooth batter.<\/li>\n<li>Mix both the batters together in a large bowl or pan.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Idli is one of the healthiest protein packed breakfast from south india,usually served with chutney or sambhar .They are very easy to digest since its made with fermented batter.Do ferment the batter for 6 hours.<\/p>\n<p>I usually take 2:2 ratio of rice and urad dal to make idlis .<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>How to decorate the Idli :-<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place the batter into the idli maker and decorate the idlis with the raw vegetables and steam them.<\/p>\n<p>Your healthier version of idli is ready to eat.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>About the mom:-<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am Sweety John belonging to North East city of Manipur and married to a South Indian.
