Whether the study results are right or wrong, but oats do have lot of nutritional benefits that makes them a preferred meal choice for kids.<\/p>\n<p>Oats are popular breakfast because they are easy on tummy as they are rich in fibers. They also provide many essential vitamins and have more protein than most of the other grains. It is a good food for breakfast as the slow release of energy keeps the kids active for a long time and prevents them from being lethargic.<\/p>\n<p>Oats come in many different forms such as steel-cut\/Irish oatmeal, rolled\/old fashioned, quick oats\/instant oats and oats flour. Steel cuts are closest to the newly harvested oats as they are least processed, but they take longer to cook. Oats are most popular as morning breakfast porridge, which by nature is sweet. My kids don&#8217;t prefer sweet breakfast and hence, I came up with this recipe for savory masala oats.<\/p>\n<p>In this recipe, oats are first cooked separately and then saut\u00e9ed with vegetables. You can also cook the oats in bulk and store in fridge for a week. You may also freeze for up to three months after splitting into desired portion sizes. When needed, just quickly saut\u00e9 the cooked oats with your choice of vegetables that is best for your kids.\u00a0 In my family we prefer to eat this as breakfast, but you may also use is recipe for kids lunches, after school light meal or for a quick dinner. My daughter always likes it when I add paneer, which is not used in the original recipe.
